Weight Management

As part of an individual’s membership, the Lifetime Wellness Center offers a weight management program. This program is designed for individuals wishing to lose weight in a healthy non gimmick way.  The individual meets with one of the centers coaches for a beginning consultation to discuss the individual’s goals.  During this meeting basic measurements are taken that include:  body weight, body fat percentage, and 3 circumference measurements (abdomen, waist and hips).  Entering the data into the centers TriFit software a daily calorie range is calculated to anticipate a 1 – 2 pound weight loss per week.  The diet is based upon exchange lists designed by a committee of the American Diabetes Association and the American Dietetic Association.  While designed primarily for people with diabetes and others who must follow special diets, the exchange lists are based on principles of good nutrition that apply to everyone.  The individual is encouraged to keep a food diary and meets briefly with a coach week to week to be weighed and to give tips to the individual.

It is recommended that individuals with special dietary needs seek the advice of their physician.
